Happy & Colourful Post!

This is a Happy & Colourful post today.
Look what I have recently found in my letterbox..

Yesterday came the Happy post
from Jacquie at My Journey in UK A very shirpy blog from a sweet & happy lady!

Here is what I have received,
a little pincushion made with Jacquie's motto

and here is the back, a very pretty floral fabric

That was a lovely sweet surprise.
It did cheer me up and made me smile!
Thank you Jacquie

Today came the Colourful post
from Maggee at Stitching Devotee in USA

Maggee had organized a giveaway recently and I was the lucky winner!
Here is my Colourful win,
Red, White & Bloom chart from CCN
it is just beautiful and the colours could also match the
Union Jack flag
or the
French one too :)

Check out the yummiest card ever, those M&Ms are so colourful & ones of my favourite too

A little close up on the fabulous chart that I can't wait to stitch...

Thank you Maggee for making my day

See, I told you...
This is a Happy &a…

Teaching is a work of heart - Lizzie Kate

Would you believe? It's me again! I have been quite productive these past few days, haven't I?? oOo I have worked on another snippet. This time it was Teaching is a work of heart from Lizzie Kate
Yes, I know, it's another Lizzie Kate design... I just love them! I have stitched this one on Zweigart Britney evenweave, olive colour, 28 ct I used all the preconized DMC threads & only one overdyed floss from Sampler Threads
because it's the only one I had available in my boxes

I have finished this one as yet another little ornament using gingham ribbon & a little apple shaped button I also used the same ribbon for the trim on the edge of the ornament.
A close up...

Here is the back. As you can see, I have been a little adventurous :) I did some felt appliqué using chain stitch!!

A little close up... Doesn't it look sweet??
I found a cute apple template on internet and voila...

Well, let's hope tadpole's teacher likes it.
This is a school end of year …

Good Things - Lizzie Kate

I have finally found the time to make and send a surprise to one of the member of the RAK blog I belong to!! This was my first package since I joined a few months ago.  My little surprise envelope went all the way to beautiful Canada to Anne at Doll's Musings. oOo I had decided to enclose a handmade item. I chose the design titled Good Things from Lizzie Kate My model was stitched on 28 ct Zweigart Brittney evenweave olive fabric, using DMC listed threads and finished off as an ornament The fabric showing on the background is the one I used for the back of my piece. I have used DMC threads for the trim and added a few beads to make it look pretty :) Now, no RAK would have been complete without the addition of little extras! So I made sure to enclose a polka fabric fat quarter, some Anchor skeins and 2 little Cadbury chocolate bars (which I hope have not melted by the time they reached their destination)
It was so much fun to prepare this surprise. The hardest bit was to keep quie…

Cross Stitcher In Residence - Lizzie Kate

I have a small finish to share with you all on this beautiful sunny weekend!

I have stitched a quick snippet called  Cross Stitcher In Residence from Lizzie Kate
My model was made using all preconised Sampler Threads overdyed floss and white Zweigard aida fabric, 14 ct
Finished off as a simple ornament using pink felt, cord & bead. Cord & bead actually come from the price tags of my favourite clothes shop White Stuff I knew by keeping it, it would came handy one day... The colours are a perfect match to the design

Apologies, my pictures are blurry as per usual :)
I'll come back soon with a few more finishes - RAK & teacher gift!
Wishing you all a lovely day
Happy stitching! Mii

July Stamp - Lizzie Kate

A new month has started and here is my new stamp finish oOo Design is the July stamp from Lizzie Kate My model was stitched on Zweigart aida fabric, 14 count, pewter colour. Worked with all the recommended DMC threads.
The piece was finished as a small pincushion using red polka fabric and grey lace from my stash.

I have decided to not use the provided black tiny buttons.
They were supposed to be used to make little bugs hovering around the watermelon.
Seriously?? How to be put off!
Watermelon should be enjoyed bugs free, don't you think?

Instead, I have tried something new!
I have made a tiny fabric yo-yo
and placed it on my model with a small light blue button
This design was not my favourite to stitch so far in the stamp collection but I'm pleased with this overall simple look Happy Stitching! Mii

Gorjuss Exchange

Back in April, I'd organised an exchange for which you had to put together: One Gorjuss cross stitch finish and
Two Gorjuss merchandising items

We ended up with a very small cosy group of volunteers:
Justine, Heather and myself I sent my goodies to Heather, Heather sent hers to Justine and Justine sent hers to me.

First, here is what I have made for Heather.
I have opted for the "New Heights" Gorjuss kit from Bothy Threads,
as she was Heather's favourite girl.

The project was stitched on 14 ct parchment Zweigart aida fabric
and used Madeira threads

Working on this piece was a long & slow process...
The background work
-  the pile of books and the wallpaper -
seemed to be never ending!!

I tried to make something different and a bit more adventurous with my finish.
I went for a little fabric tray.

I followed the instructions provided on Marie Christine's blog
but altered them so that it could fit my Gorjuss girl :)

My initial plan was to use Gorjus…
